It was a crisp October day, I woke up to the other dogs whining as the shelter workers let us all out of our kennels. Yes! Freedom! I ran so fast to the playroom to play with my friends! Today was going to be a big day - I can feel it! I played for hours and hours, until I had to have a nap. After lunch I saw two humans walk in and sit on the floor. Everyone crowded around them, jumping on them. Get yourself together guys I thought. I quietly walked over and sat by the mans huge feet. I knew the drill, people visited us all the time and had a few cuddles. As I sat watching the commotion of Simba getting silly all over this ladies lap. I met eyes with the lady human, she immediately picked me up. My legs were dangling and I thought jeez lady I just had breakfast. I stared into her and she stared back, she said "its you, your the one." I said to myself ok lady, do you have food or a ball? The lady stood up and talked with a shelter worker, she came back and said "I'm going to be your new Mom" and I thought "Mom?." She said she would be back, she came back with a new collar and name tag with the name "Koda."

Little Miss. Ella loves sweets more than anything! She has a big jar at home filled with all her favorite treats. She loves chocolates, gummies, and icecream. Every Sunday night, little miss Ella would count her sweets to make sure she knew how many were left. One Thursday morning, Ella excitedly grabbed her jar. “Let’s see how many sweets I have today!” she said. But when she looked inside, she gasped. “Wait a minute! I had 12 sweets yesterday, but now I only see 8”. Ella scratched her head and started whining. “Where did my candy 4 candy go mommy?” Just then, Ella noticed her cousin June, sneaking out of her room with chocolate on her face. She thought for a second and said, “Hmm, I wonder if June took some of my sweets.” Ella followed June to the living room, where she saw her holding 4 of her chocolates. “Aha! That’s where some of my sweets went,” she said. “But I’m still missing more.” Ella went back to her room and looked under her bed. There she found her dog,Mocha, chewing on 2 of her reeses cups. “Mocha! You took 2 of my favorite candies!” Ella counted again. “Let’s see… I had 12 sweets. June took 4, Mocha took 2, and now I have 6 left. That makes 12!” Ella smiled and hugged June. “Next time, just ask before you take my sweets, Junie Poh!” she laughed. June grinned, chocolate still on her face. “Okay, Ella, I promise I’ll ask next time.” Then she looked at Mocha. “And you, no more sneaking my reeses cup from under the bed!” Mocha wagged her tail happily, and Ella gave her a big hug.
