Elle voulait que Madagascar reste libre et indépendant.” 12. Samir : (fier) “Donc, elle protégeait Madagascar comme une héroïne ?” 13. Maman : “Exactement.” 14. Maman : “Shaka Zulu a changé la façon de faire la guerre en Afrique du Sud. Il a créé de nouvelles armes et stratégies pour protéger son peuple.” 15. Samir : “Il devait être super malin !” 16. Maman : “Nzinga, reine d’Angola, a mené des batailles contre les Portugais et a négocié pour protéger son peuple.” 17. Samir : “Elle n’a jamais abandonné ?” 18. Maman : “Jamais.” 19. Samir : “Je vais parler de ces rois et reines. Je veux que tout le monde sache leur histoire !” 20. Maman : “Tu feras un exposé incroyable !” Fin.

Father Quill, the wise and prepared duck, always had a plan and a kind word of advice. Their eldest, Quester, was an inquisitive and passionate girl, always asking questions and diving deep to explore the tub's depths. The youngest, Giggles, was a goofy, quiet duck who loved making everyone laugh with his silly antics. One bubbly morning, Sparkle declared, “Let’s have a quacking adventure to the far end of the tub!” Quill, ever the planner, had packed a tiny backpack with floaties, snacks, and a tiny rubber map. Quester quacked excitedly, "What’s over there? Are there more bubbles? Is there a soap waterfall?" Giggles just giggled, already making funny faces at his reflection. As they paddled along, they encountered the dreaded Soap Sud Monster, who turned out to be a friendly lump of bubbles. Quester tried to interview the monster, but Giggles kept making it laugh with his impersonation of a squeaky toy. They then found the legendary Rubber Duck Island, which was just a soap dish, but they pretended it was a majestic fortress. The family had a bubble fight, with Sparkle twirling and Quill getting hilariously stuck in a soap ring. Quester discovered a “treasure” of bath beads, which she declared to be magical pearls. Giggles tried to juggle them but ended up making everyone slip and slide in a fit of laughter.

This makes a volcano!” Vika thought about boats bumping—Splash! She could see it in her mind. “When a volcano erupts, hot lava comes out,” Grandma said. “Smoke, rocks, and ash fly in the air. That is why we must be careful.” Vika looked at the volcano near her village. Sometimes she saw smoke. “When the volcano erupts, the hot gas and lava push through a hole on top. This hole is called a crater,” Grandma explained. Vika listened. Grandma was very good at explaining things! “Did you see a volcano erupt, Grandma?” Vika asked. “Yes,” Grandma said. “When I was little, the volcano near our village erupted.” “What did you do?” Vika asked. “We stayed inside and closed all the windows and doors. Then, our village leader told us to move to a safe place.” Vika imagined Grandma walking to a safe village. She looked at the volcano. It was quiet today, but if it started smoking, she would listen to Grandma!

Amita comes from a family in Banda, Uttar Pradesh, and was born into a close-knit joint family. Her childhood was filled with joy, as she was the first child and received abundant love and pampering from her parents and grandparents. In her family, women from her mother’s generation had limited exposure to education and job opportunities. However, her family took a different approach for her generation where they were always encouraged to pursue their studies. Her mother hoped she would become a doctor, but her passion lay in mathematics, and she aspired to pursue engineering. Despite her mother’s initial reservations about engineering being a suitable path for a girl, she managed to convince her parents. However, challenges remained. Her town had only one science college for girls, and unfortunately, mathematics wasn’t offered there. Undeterred, she persuaded the school to approve math as a subject, and it was heartening to see a few of her friends choose the same path. When everything seemed to be going well, and she was at a crucial point in choosing my career, she faced medical emergencies and underwent multiple surgeries. It took nearly two years to return to normal life, which unfortunately meant she couldn’t attend the engineering college she had hoped for. Disappointment weighed heavily, but she heeded her father’s advice. She pursued her graduation in PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) and secured the second-highest rank in college. Later, she completed her master’s and married, relocating to Pune. There, she joined L&T Infotech.
