Once upon a time, over a thousand years ago,in the 11th Century, there lived a brave Viking named Leif Erickson. Leif loved the sea, just like his father before him. He had a big ship, and he was always looking for new places to explore. One day, Leif heard stories about a mysterious land far to the west, beyond the cold waters from where he lived. Excited and curious, he gathered his crew and set sail. They packed their ship with food and strong shields for the journey. The wind blew, and the waves were bigger than expected, they splashed against his ship as they sailed across the ocean. The stars guided their way. For many days and nights, they sailed, until one day, they saw land in the distance! What could this new place be? Leif and his crew sailed closer and found a land with tall trees, and grapes growing on vines. Leif was so happy to see such a beautiful place that he named it Vinland, which means "Land of Wine." The Vikings set up camp and built small houses to stay in. They spent the winter in Vinland, enjoying the fresh food and exploring the forests and fields. But as winter came to an end, Leif knew it was time to return home. He and his crew packed up their ship, and with one last look at the beautiful land, they set sail back home. Leif promised himself he would tell everyone about this amazing place he had discovered. When they returned home, Leif shared the story of Vinland with other Vikings. Even though he never returned to Vinland, he was proud to be the first European to find and explore it. And so, the tale of Leif Erickson and his journey across the Atlantic Ocean was told for many years. He showed everyone that with bravery, a strong ship, and a little bit of adventure, you could discover incredible new places, even ones you didn’t expect! And that is how the Vikings and Leif Erickson became the first Europeans to reach North America.

Bert was no ordinary dog. He was big, strong, and had the softest brown eyes. But what made him truly special was his job—he was a therapy dog. Every day, Bert and his owner, Mrs. G, put on his blue therapy vest and visited schools to help kids feel calm and happy. Some were shy, others nervous, but when Bert walked in, smiles grew, and hearts felt lighter. Bert loved belly rubs, gentle pats, and listening to kids read. It made him feel loved and important. One chilly afternoon, after visiting a school, Bert and Mrs. G were heading out when—slam!—a heavy door shut on Bert’s tail. He yelped. Mrs. G rushed to his side, worried and upset. She quickly took him to the veterinarian, who said part of Bert’s tail needed to be docked to heal properly. Bert had surgery and came home with a short, bandaged tail. But the hardest part wasn't the pain—it was missing the kids. He sat by the door every morning, waiting to go back. Weeks later, Bert had healed. His fur grew back, and one sunny morning, Mrs. G said, “It’s time.” Bert’s tail wagged happily. Back at school, the kids cheered. They didn’t care about his shorter tail—they were just happy their friend had returned. Bert was back, doing what he loved most: helping others, one wag at a time.

Santa brought Cheryl some new shoes for Christmas, but when she tried them on they weren’t comfortable because they were elf shoes. Cheryl tried many different ways to fix the elf shoes. She tried to cook the elf shoes in the oven but they just melted. She’d ran over the elf shoes with the car but they were flattened. She sent the elf shoes to Mars in a rocket ship but they didn’t come back. She left the elf shoes in the alley hoping a shoeless person would take the elf shoes but nobody took the elf shoes. After a few days she tried the elf shoes on again and this time, to Cheryl's surprise, they were perfect. She couldn't understand why the elf shoes started to feel better after a few days had passed but from that day forward she wore her elf shoes everywhere.

He no longer felt lonely because he knew that whenever he needed them, his classmates would be there for him at the Friendship Spot.

Little Bear felt scared and ran to Mommy Bear. Mommy Bear gave Little Bear a big hug. "It's okay, Little Bear. You are safe," she said. Little Bear felt safe and happy. Later, Little Bear asked Mommy Bear for some ice cream. But Mommy Bear said, "First lunch, then ice cream." Little Bear felt angry. He stomped his feet and crossed his arms. Mommy Bear said, "It's okay to feel angry. Let's take a deep breath together." They took a deep breath in and blew it out slowly. Little Bear started to feel calmer. They had lunch together, and then Mommy Bear gave Little Bear some ice cream. Little Bear felt happy again.
