The Line Fire is a large active wildfire in San Bernardino County, Southern California. The fire began on September 5 near the community of Highland and spread into the San Bernardino National Forest. The fire has forced the evacuation of multiple communities. On September 10, the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department identified and arrested 34-year-old Justin Wayne Halstenberg, a resident of Norco, on suspicion of starting the fire on September 5. As of October 8, 2024, the Line Fire has burned 43,978 acres (17,797 hectares) and is 87 percent contained. The cause of the fire is believed to be arson.[3] It began during a multiple-day heatwave in Southern California. Downtown Los Angeles reached 112 °F (44 °C), the third time that temperature had been reached since 1877. The Line Fire has led to mandatory evacuation orders for more than 500 homes. Initial evacuation warnings were issued for neighborhoods in East Highland in the early morning of September 6, 2024. By September 7, 2024, evacuation orders would be placed for neighborhoods along the foothills, extending into San Bernardino, and for neighborhoods east of Calle Del Rio. Over the following days the mountain communities of Green Valley Lake, Cedar Glen, Lake Arrowhead, Crestline, Valley of Enchantment, and Big Bear Valley were placed under evacuation warnings. Mandatory evacuation orders were issued for Running Springs, Arrowbear Lake, Angelus Oaks, Seven Oaks, Forest Falls, and Mountain Home Village.

She waited and waited. But nothing happened. "Why isn't it growing?" she asked Hoot, tapping her foot. "Patience, Tilly," Hoot said. "Good things take time." Page 6 One day, Tilly saw Benny the rabbit struggling to carry a heavy basket of carrots. "Oh, Benny!" she cried. "Let me help!" She helped Benny carry the carrots to his burrow. Page 7 When Tilly returned to her pot, she gasped. A tiny green sprout had peeked out of the soil! "It's growing!" she shouted. She had been so busy helping a friend, she hadn't noticed. Page 8 The sprout grew into a beautiful little plant with glowing flowers that looked like tiny stars. "What did you wish for, Tilly?" Hoot asked. Tilly thought for a moment. Page 9 "I wished for happiness," she said. "And I found it by helping my friends." The glowing flowers shimmered, and a warm feeling filled the air. Tilly realized that true wishes weren't about things, but about kindness and friendship. Page 10 From that day on, Tilly understood the magic of the Wishing Seeds. They taught her that the best wishes were the ones you shared with others. And that the most important thing to grow, was kindness.

"Now, let’s trace our star," Sam said, "Breathe in as you trace up one arm, and breathe out as you go down the next." Page 6: As they traced their star shapes, breathing in and out, everyone felt calm and relaxed. "Yoga helps us feel like we’re floating on a gentle wave," Sam said with a smile. "It’s the best way to start our day!" Page 7: When they finished, they all lay down on the soft, sandy sea floor in the Resting Reef Pose. "This is how we end our yoga," Sam whispered. "Just close your eyes and listen to the ocean’s lullaby." Page 8: As the waves whispered around them, Sam and his friends felt happy and peaceful. "Yoga with friends is so much fun," they all agreed. "Let’s do it again tomorrow!" And with that, they drifted off into a restful, dreamy sea, ready for a day filled with ocean adventures.
