Patrick climbed onto its back. “Let’s go!” he cheered. The T-Rex ran through the jungle, past rivers and volcanoes, past flying Pteranodons and small running raptors. Patrick laughed and held on tight. It was the best adventure ever! But then, a soft voice whispered, Patrick… Patrick… time to wake up! Patrick blinked and found himself back in his bed. His mom was standing by his side, smiling. “Did you have a good dream?” she asked. Every brick and tile here tells a story of the past. The old walled village, situated on the mountainside, stands with its majestic blue brick walls, seemingly narrating tales of repelling pirates. The steps in front of the village gate are cleverly designed as a defensive position, making it difficult for enemies to attack. The small holes and high platforms on the walls were used to monitor outside movements, ensuring the villagers' safety. Such intelligent architectural designs leave me in awe of my ancestors' wisdom. Passing through the ancient gate, I see orderly houses with winding paths paved with blue stones. Not far away, the grand ancestral hall—Song Ling Tang Gong Hall—showcases our family's long history. The exquisite wood carvings and murals inside the hall reflect our family’s glory and traditions. Beside the ancestral hall stands the Tin Hau Temple, with its red walls and yellow tiles radiating a sacred atmosphere. The ancient bronze bell inside tells of countless pious wishes, as if feeling the divine protection. The surrounding statues of the Earth God and the Goddess of Heaven further immerse me in the rich local beliefs. When I step into other walled villages like Dong Ge and Wing Ning, I can still sense the vigor of their long history. Although many walls are now damaged, I can still imagine the tense scenes of repelling pirates. The altars and other structures make me feel the sincere hopes of my ancestors for wealth and success. As I stroll through this culturally rich land, I can almost feel the footsteps of my ancestors and the vitality of this home. No matter where I go, my roots will always be here—in Lung Yeuk Tau.

His mother gave him her share of the hay and the mule understood that he was truly loved and shared this with her to return that love. one day a bad man who was always angry came and took him away from his mother. This man would hardly let him eat and always worked him all day long with hardly giving him a break. The mule thought this man must not know what love is and was going to try to show this man what love is. For 3 days the mule would work and work and work. but it was never hard enough for the man wouldn't even feed him at the end of the day. The mule cried and was so very hungry and thought "how can I show this man what is love?" The man took the mule into town and piled a bunch of food in front of him to eat. there was another man there though. This man was holding a single piece of bread. At first the mule was confused with the choice. But something in that bread felt like his mothers love from a long long time ago. He was so shocked thinking how could this be? that he knelt in front of this bread he knew was the source of all love. Hoping this would show the mean man that love requires all of us to sacrifice sometimes. The man was so shocked that he knelt down in front of the bread too and he yelled with tears and joy that this must be God. For surely God must be love

She flew over to him and said “excuse me, sir, but could you please let my friend the fish go?” But the fisherman only heard “caw, caw, caw caaaw, caw caw.” Sally flew back to the fish. The fish asked, “is he going to let me go?” “No” Sally replied, “he doesn’t speak seagull.” Just then a sea otter swam up, he had heard them talking and was wondering what the commotion was all about. The sea otter asked the fish, “what’s going on over here?”

Fredrick called, hopping ahead. He found a small pond with sparkling water. Marble splashed her paws in it, giggling. Donkey and Big Bear Brown joined in, and soon they were all laughing together. As the sun began to set, they found a cozy clearing with tall trees and soft moss—just the perfect spot for their new home. Donkey set up a comfy tent, Marble gathered some flowers, Fredrick built a small fire, and Big Bear Brown unpacked their snacks. “This place isn’t so bad after all,” Donkey said, feeling happier. "It’s better than good," Fredrick croaked. "It’s home." And as they huddled together under the twinkling stars, Donkey, Fredrick, Marble, and Big Bear Brown knew that no matter where they went, as long as they had each other, they would always be home.
