In a sunny playground, children laughed and played. Timmy, with his bright red cap, built a sandcastle. Next to him, Maya twirled in her pink dress. But wait! There was a problem. She looked at Timmy, surprised. “It’s okay,” she whispered. “Thank you for saying sorry.” Description: Timmy’s sneakers were scuffed, and his freckles stood out against his pale skin. Maya’s fingers played with the edge of her dress, and her smile returned.

There’s a fat, juicy lamb waiting at the bottom. You’ll love it!” Bruno rushed to the well. He peered inside and saw his own reflection in the water. Thinking it was the lamb, he leapt in, only to splash into the cold water! Felix laughed from the edge of the well, saying, “Dear Bruno, always look before you leap!” Felix trotted off happily, leaving Bruno drenched and grumpy.

They work together to pitch it.“Our tent is cozy!” Tipene giggles. They have fun inside. “Time to make a campfire!” says Nikora. They find sticks and rocks. A parent helps them start the fire. “Be safe, boys!” they say. “Yummy! Let’s roast marshmallows!” says Tipene. They laugh as they cook. They sit by the fire. “Tell me a story!” Nikora asks. Tipene begins. The sky gets dark, and stars twinkle above. “Look at all the stars!” says Nikora. They lie on the grass, dreaming about the stars. “What do you see?” asks Tipene.

Mina is a half Korean and Half Vietnamese girl who is learning about the Vu Lan Festival that is celebrated on June 15th. She sees her parents setting up an altar and preparing food and learns to make a sweet rice cake with her mother. She is told that the festival is meant to honor parents and ancestors with offerings made at home and at the Vietnamese temple. Her family visits a temple and prays. Afterwards, they light and hang a paper lantern on a tree. The next day the family packs up old clothes and toys to give to their local Vietnamese charity. Mina is happy to remember her ancestors and help others, looking forward to doing it again next year
