Santa brought Cheryl some new shoes for Christmas, but when she tried them on they weren’t comfortable because they were elf shoes. Cheryl tried many different ways to fix the elf shoes. She tried to cook the elf shoes in the oven but they just melted. She’d ran over the elf shoes with the car but they were flattened. She sent the elf shoes to Mars in a rocket ship but they didn’t come back. She left the elf shoes in the alley hoping a shoeless person would take the elf shoes but nobody took the elf shoes. After a few days she tried the elf shoes on again and this time, to Cheryl's surprise, they were perfect. She couldn't understand why the elf shoes started to feel better after a few days had passed but from that day forward she wore her elf shoes everywhere.

One bright morning, with the sun shining bright in his bedroom, Lucas decided to set things right. “I need to get organized, I need a plan, To make my room tidy—yes, I can!” First, he found boxes, some big and some small, “One for my cars, and one for my ball. When they came back to the meadow, all her friends cheered. The Shepherd smiled and replied, “I will never stop looking for my lost sheep and bringing them back home.” So from that day forward, Lily, among the flock with the Shepherd, knew He would always love and protect her. “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” —Psalm 23:1

The Line Fire is a large active wildfire in San Bernardino County, Southern California. The fire began on September 5 near the community of Highland and spread into the San Bernardino National Forest. The fire has forced the evacuation of multiple communities. On September 10, the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department identified and arrested 34-year-old Justin Wayne Halstenberg, a resident of Norco, on suspicion of starting the fire on September 5. As of October 8, 2024, the Line Fire has burned 43,978 acres (17,797 hectares) and is 87 percent contained. The cause of the fire is believed to be arson.[3] It began during a multiple-day heatwave in Southern California. Downtown Los Angeles reached 112 °F (44 °C), the third time that temperature had been reached since 1877. The Line Fire has led to mandatory evacuation orders for more than 500 homes. Initial evacuation warnings were issued for neighborhoods in East Highland in the early morning of September 6, 2024. By September 7, 2024, evacuation orders would be placed for neighborhoods along the foothills, extending into San Bernardino, and for neighborhoods east of Calle Del Rio. Over the following days the mountain communities of Green Valley Lake, Cedar Glen, Lake Arrowhead, Crestline, Valley of Enchantment, and Big Bear Valley were placed under evacuation warnings.
