"We would be there by the time you took your first step!" Finn looked unsure but followed the others, leaving Toby behind. Toby didn’t give up and slowly made his way through the forest. He found a hidden bridge the others hadn’t seen and decided to wait there. When his friends came to a big river and couldn’t cross, they felt hopeless. Toby proudly showed them the secret bridge he had found, and they all crossed safely. "You saved us, Toby!" Finn said, and everyone realized even slow steps could lead to big victories.

Page 1 Today, Alex and Emma are going on a school trip to Lung Yeuk Tau. They are very excited to see the beautiful mountains and old villages! Page 2 The bus drives along the mountain road to Lung Yeuk Tau. Alex tells Emma, "The mountains here look like a dragon jumping, so it’s called Lung Yeuk Tau!" Emma laughs and says, "That’s so interesting!" Page 3 They arrive at the old village called Old Wai and see the tall walls. Emma asks, "Why are the walls so thick here?" The teacher replies, "They were built to keep pirates away!" Page 4 The kids see an old well. Alex points and says, "This well was used by villagers for drinking water." Emma looks closely and says, "The well has a metal cover. That’s special!" Page 5 Next, they visit the Tin Hau Temple. Emma is surprised and says, "There are so many statues in the temple!" The teacher explains, "These are the gods that protect the village. We can pray here for blessings." Page 6 In the temple, the kids see two old bronze bells. Emma asks, "What are these bells for?" The teacher says, "People ring the bells to tell the gods and pray for safety." Page 7 Before the trip ends, the kids take pictures on the village path. They agree to come back next time to join the village’s traditional activities and learn more about the culture. Page 8 Back at school, Alex and Emma excitedly share their trip stories. John Jr knew Jesus was showed selflessness. They knew that love Jrsus showed others sought nothing in return; he gave his time and energy freely to anyone who asked for it and plenty that didn't; he even humbled himself to the point of washing his friends' feet 2. John Jr and Jade thought of ways to be more selfless. They were going to try to Donate, Volunteer, Serve others: Compliment instead of criticize:, Empathize with others, and Practice active listening:. 3. John Jr and Jade reflected on the verse In Philippians 2:3-4 "Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others." The remembered Jesus teaching the principles of cultivating humility, putting love into action, serving others, actively listening, practicing empathy, giving freely, forgiving, praying for selflessness, and seeking accountability,. John Jr and Jade had a desire to be more like Jesus and started being more selfless in their lives.
