A girl realizes who she can be when she grows up.

Mina is a half Korean and Half Vietnamese girl who is learning about the Vu Lan Festival that is celebrated on June 15th. She sees her parents setting up an altar and preparing food and learns to make a sweet rice cake with her mother. She is told that the festival is meant to honor parents and ancestors with offerings made at home and at the Vietnamese temple. Her family visits a temple and prays. Afterwards, they light and hang a paper lantern on a tree. The next day the family packs up old clothes and toys to give to their local Vietnamese charity. Mina is happy to remember her ancestors and help others, looking forward to doing it again next year

Max was a whirlwind of energy, always rushing around, never stopping to appreciate the little things. His mom would make him a delicious breakfast, and he'd just grab it and run off to school, barely saying thank you. His friends would spend hours building an amazing Lego castle, and he'd just barge in and knock it down, not even apologizing. One day, a strange old woman with twinkling eyes appeared in his room. Curious, Max put them on. Suddenly, the world transformed! His mom's face, usually a bit tired, now radiated joy as she prepared his breakfast. He saw the effort she put into each pancake, the love she poured into every sprinkle. His friends' eyes sparkled with pride as they meticulously placed each Lego brick, their laughter echoing with genuine happiness. Max felt a strange new emotion – a warmth in his chest. He realized how much happiness he had been missing by not appreciating the kindness and effort of others. He apologized to his friends, helped them rebuild their castle, and even thanked his mom for the delicious breakfast. From that day on, Max wore his "Gratitude Glasses" every day, not literally, but in his mind. He started to notice the small things – the beautiful sunset, the chirping of birds, the kindness of strangers. He learned to appreciate the efforts of others and to express his gratitude. He realized that true happiness wasn't about getting everything he wanted, but about cherishing the kindness and joy that surrounded him.

John consumed a mysterious milk tea and gained a unique ability: his eyes could produce an unlimited amount of milk.

John Jr and Yuēhàn learned that The War of 1812 was fought by the United States and against the United Kingdom and its allies in North America. It began when the United States declared war on Britain on 18 June 1812. Although peace terms were agreed upon in the December 1814 Treaty of Ghent, the war did not officially end until the peace treaty was ratified by the United States Congress on 17 February 1815. 2. John Jr highlighted some important points about the War of 1812 to Yuēhàn. These points included: The war was fought over trade practices, territorial expansion, and British support for Tecumseh's confederacy, The British Royal Navy took American sailors from their ships and forced them to join the British Navy, The war ended in a stalemate, with no side losing territory, except for the Native Americans, The war is sometimes called the Second War of Independence, The war was a result of the wider conflict between Great Britain and France over who would dominate the world 3. John Jr and Yuehan was glad to hear that On February 16, 1815, the day President James Madison sent the Treaty of Ghent to the Senate, the War of 1812 came to an end.

1. John Jr and Yuēhàn was excited for their family trip to Gettysburg battlefield. Before packing their suitcases, John Jr and Yuēhàn looked at some history books to have a better understanding of how Gettysburg battlefield was so important. 2. John Jr gave Yuēhàn some history about the Civil War. The American Civil War was a war between the Union (Northern US States) and the Confederacy (Southern US States) that lasted from 1861-1865. The war was fought over disagreements about slavery, states vs. federal rights, the election of Abraham Lincoln, and the economy. 3. John Jr found some information on the battle of Gettysburg. The Battle of Gettysburg was a three-day battle fought between Union and Confederate forces between July 1 and July 3, 1863, in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. The battle, which was won by the Union, is widely considered the Civil War's turning point, ending the Confederacy's aspirations to establish an independent nation. It was the Civil War's bloodiest battle, claiming over 50,000 combined casualties over three days. 4. Yuēhàn found some information of the final battle and shared it with John Jr. The Battle of Palmito Ranch took place on May 12–13, 1865, near the Rio Grande in Cameron County, Texas. The battle was fought between Confederate forces under Col. John S. “Rip” Ford and Union forces under Col. Theodore H. Barrett. The battle resulted in a Confederate victory. 5. John. Jr and Yuēhàn finished packing and loaded up the car. They had a wonderful time in Gettysburg and even saw a Civil War reenactment.
